About RSF

The Studio

Thirty years of mastery.
Based in Bangkok.
Working across Southeast Asia.

Restaurateurs sans frontières was founded by Master Restorer Robert Bougrain-Dubourg with a singular purpose, to bring the highest standards of European conservation practice to Southeast Asia.

Today, RSF operates from a dedicated studio and laboratory at the Jim Thompson Foundation on Rama 1 Road, Bangkok - one of the most culturally significant addresses in the city.
Our team of specialist restorers works across all mediums and periods, serving private collectors, galleries, museums, and fine art institutions throughout the region.

We take our name seriously. Restaurateurs sans frontières - restorers without borders. Art does not recognise geography, and neither do we.

Robert Bougrain-Dubourg

Founder & Master Restorer

Robert Bougrain-Dubourg brings over 40 years of conservation and restoration experience to every work that enters the studio. Trained in France and formed by decades of practice across Europe and Asia, Robert is among the most experienced fine art restorers working in Southeast Asia today.

His approach is grounded in rigour, patience, and respect for the work - combining deep technical knowledge with an instinct for what each piece needs and what it can bear. Under his direction, RSF has built a reputation for interventions that are invisible, reversible, and lasting.

Robert works personally on complex and sensitive cases, and oversees the treatment of every work that passes through the studio.
